Beer Kits

A beer kit is a way of making beer at home without owning a miniature brewery. The mashing, sparging and boiling have already been done — the tin holds finished, hopped wort, reduced to a syrup. Your work starts where the brewery's ends: dissolve the extract, pitch the yeast, then see the beer through fermentation and conditioning. Those two stages are where the quality of the finished beer is decided.

Kits come in several types and sizes, and make all kinds of beers. Most come with one or two tins of hopped malt extract, a sachet of yeast, and some add finings or extra hop pellets. Kits with 3.0 kg or more of malt extract make a full batch without added sugar, which gives a fuller-bodied beer.
