Dry Hopped

A dry-hopped beer is a beer to which some extra hops have been added after fermentation directly to the barrel. This allows the beer to obtain extra hop character and aroma from the hops as it ages. Hook Norton brewery in Oxfordshire regularly use dry hopping in their cask condition ales, as do some other breweries around the UK (and probably elsewhere). Some beer kits include hop pellets and instructions on how to dry hop your beer, the Muntons Flagship range being the best example we stock. Of course you can also buy fresh hops and experiment on your own.
